Cities are spread out, and there\u2019s hardly any public transport to speak of. Even between cities\u2014which can easily be more than 500 km apart\u2014public transport is limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>By rental car<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Saudi Arabia is made for cars, especially 4x4s. Saudi\u2019s most memorable spots are all outside the cities; I highly recommend you rent a car to make the most of your trip to Saudi. A local told me you can sometimes find them lurking outside of major bus terminals.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3>By plane<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re short on time, or if you only want to visit a few main cities, planes are the most efficient (and often cost-effective) way of getting between cities. Most flights are less than two hours. Some are even cheaper than bus tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>By bus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>SAPTCO runs an extensive bus network throughout Saudi Arabia. Buses are clean and comfortable, though on the pricey side.
